Meet

Kaitlyn Nicholas is an editor, journalist and writer who's happiest when working on scenic and sound-rich stories that experiment with form while delivering honest, journalistic narratives. Currently, she's writing and telling stories about the importance, relevance, and beauty of public libraries at Kitsap Regional Library.

Her previous work includes working as a digital producer and news editor for Northwest Public Broadcasting, producing a podcast covering science and technology breakthroughs for the Wall Street Journal, covering Indigenous affairs as a public radio reporter in Montana, and freelancing as an editor, producer, and fact checker for a variety of podcasts covering science, political history, and economics.

Kaitlyn's own stories have often focused on the intersection of biological engineering, history, and the US legal system. She trained in editing, sound design, and longform audio reporting at NYU, where she earned her master's degree in journalism. Kaitlyn studied English (with heavy sides of science and film photography) at Montana State University. She's a big fan of backpacking, bicycling, and noodles of all kinds. She lives in the Puget Sound.
